Registration is open for the 2021 OTR 5K!

The 14th annual OTR 5K run/walk, presented by the OTR Chamber , OTR YMCA and Taste of Belgium , returns in a new season this year: Say hello to Fall! Don’t miss one of OTR’s biggest events of the year and join us to run or walk the 5K on Saturday, Oct. 2. Then hang out and celebrate with a post-party in Washington Park! Post-party includes live music, family-friendly activities, a local vendor market around the gazebo and more! Then stay all day for FC Cincinnati pre-game activities, which kick-off in Washington Park at 4:00 pm (home game against New York Red Bulls at 7:30 pm)! Registration will be open until 8:45 am on race day. Racers who sign up the day of the race will have to pick up their packets at the registration booth.

Don't want to run this year? No problem -- you can still support the OTR 5K by donating on our race page.

What does registration include? Race registration includes race timing, OTR 5K t-shirt, Taste of Belgium waffle, Deeper Roots coffee (8oz), a drink ticket for a beer, soda, or water and option for on-site bag drop (comes with a drawstring bag!). Top finishers will be awarded the highly coveted Rookwood Pottery medals.

How does the option to tie-dye your OTR 5K tee work? As our tees have become a fan favorite, we are giving you the option to add a little extra fun to your 5K t-shirt! Select the tie-dye option when registering online and you will receive a white OTR 5K branded tee that you'll get to tie-dye after the race. We will have a bag drop the day of, so there will be a place to store your tee while you run/walk! Note: With the tie-dye option, the white t-shirt is not an additional shirt, but simply a different color choice. The tie-dye will be a single orange color, to compliment the regular orange race tee color. All OTR 5K tees are a soft ring-spun cotton.

When is the last day I can register online? You can register online up until 8:45 am on race day. Just be sure to give yourself time to pick up your materials and get to the starting line!

Is this only a run or can I walk? You are welcome to walk or run. Strollers are welcome as well.

Who can participate in the run?   Anyone 9 or over is welcome to walk/run in the OTR 5K. What is the route for the race?  We will be running close to the same course as we did in 2019. You can view the course map HERE .

Will there be water on the course?  Yes! Close to mile 2, our friends from the Flying Pig Marathon will be providing water for you (beer comes after!) to get you to that finish line.

Where does the money raised from the OTR 5K go? Event proceeds benefit the OTR Chamber of Commerce. The OTR 5K is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the OTR Chamber organization, which directly supports and sustains the diverse small business community in OTR and Pendleton. This year more than ever, our small businesses need your help. We appreciate your support, whether a donation or choosing to shop small!

Our vision is for Over-the-Rhine to be a model neighborhood for inclusive urban revitalization. For more information, please visit  otrchamber.com  or email  [email protected] .

Volunteers Needed!

Don’t feel like running the race? We feel ya, sometimes it’s just nice to have a rest day. We have many volunteer opportunities available, including packet-pickup on Thursday (9/30) and Friday (10/1) at the Central Parkway YMCA (guest passes included!), and on-site Saturday 10/2 for the race itself, including registration, finish line water/food and helping to work our kids race (cutest thing ever!). Volunteering includes a OTR 5K volunteer tee and drink ticket for a beer, water or soda once you’re finished!

View the volunteer opportunities and sign up here (via YMCA volunteer page).

COVID-19 Protocol: The run and post-race party will take place outdoors. We are strongly encouraging all volunteers to wear masks when working at tables and/or where social distancing isn't possible. Those volunteers who are assisting with packet pickup on Thursday or Friday at the OTR YMCA will be required to wear a mask while indoors. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation!
